Give it a shot

Dreaming of a personal accomplishment, most people make the mistake of waiting...

- Waiting until they've been trained
- Waiting till someone say's they are ready
- Waiting till they have the proper tools
- Waiting till they're better
- Waiting till they're hired
- Waiting till they've been given the assignment
Question : There are 3 frogs on a leaf. If one of them decided to jump off the leaf into the water, how many frogs are there left on the leaf?
Answer: THREE
Why?
Because the frog only DECIDED to jump! It didn't!
Ponder over this, my friends.
Are you not unlike the frog; who decides to do this, decides to do that, but ended up not doing any?
In life, we have to make many decisions. Some easy; some hard.
Most mistakes are not made by wrong decisions Most mistakes ARE made due to indecisions
We have to live with the consequences of our decisions And that is RISK.
Have a great day ahead.- SOUL AND PEACE

How does a Belief Form?

When an idea constantly bypasses your conscious mind's filters to your subconscious it may turn into a belief, you may be asking how can an idea bypass my conscious mind filtering, the following are explanation of how could this happen:
When the idea comes from a trusted source: when you were a small child the most trusted source you knew at that time was your parents, if your parents told you that this barking animal is called a dog will immediately believe them, and since you will find that everyone around supports this idea, the idea is will become a strong belief then turn into a known fact.
Now what if your parents kept telling you that you were a fool or a dumb kid? What will be the result? Of course you can guess, you will grow up thinking that is true, and you may end up feeling inferior and lacking self confidence.
Belief system and your life
What’s most dangerous about your beliefs is that they shape your life; you may even create a self-fulfilling prophecy to support a false belief that you have about yourself.
For example suppose you think that you are not good at math, most probably you wont be motivated to study math because you will be thinking that whatever you do you wont get good grades, and the result will be that you will perform poorly in the exam and so reinforce the belief!!!
That was a simple belief, in some cases beliefs totally ruin people's lives, like when someone thinks that he is a failure and so fulfill the prophecy and fail or like when someone thinks that he is a victim and so act like one or like when someone thinks that he is worthless and so commit suicide!!
Law governs the universe
Law governs success
Law also governs your subconscious mind.
The law of your subconscious mind is the law of belief.
Your subconscious mind power is like a magnet. It attracts things that resonate with its beliefs. To put it bluntly, if you have a certain belief in your subconscious mind, your subconscious mind will vibrate based on this belief and attract events and people that resonate with or correspond to this belief. This is the Universal Law of Vibration and Attraction. It is a law that exists whether you believe it or not, just like the law of gravity. Let me repeat. This law works on you whether you believe it or not! – Soul and Peace

The thought process is very important, and I don't think anything happens without first step, but without the action, the first step will stay internal, in almost all situations. I repeat without action nothing moves. I think you have to sort through tons of rock to get to the diamonds, and some of that rubble rousing is going to be internal and some needs to be external.
Sheikh Chili , who was a great daydreamer. Once it so happened that a soldier told him to carry a tin full of ghee (clarified butter) to his house, and promised him two annas (pennies) as pay. So he was carrying that tin on his head and he started dreaming: "From the two annas I will get from the soldier, I will buy a couple of eggs, and from those eggs hens will come out, and when they are grown they will lay more eggs, and I will then sell those hens and eggs and I will buy a goat, and that goat will also have children, and I will sell all of them, and then I will buy a cow, and she will bear many calves, and for them I will collect so much money, and then I will get married. Then I will have many children, and I will take care of them. When they fight I will teach them not to, and if they continue fighting after they grow up, then I will kick them with my leg." And at this point in his fantasy, he actually kicked with his leg as if he were kicking his children, so that suddenly that tin of ghee which was on his head fell off and all the ghee was gone. The soldier got upset and said, "You have lost all this ghee"; but Sheikh Chili replied, "You are worried about your ghee which is worth only a few rupees, but I have lost all my family. You should give me some compensation."
"Our mind is just like Sheikh Chili. There is nothing material there, but still he is thinking about this and that, and he goes on doing fantasies."
Thought without action is dreaming
Thoughts become things. Not all thoughts become things.
You have to take action and make an effort to make the things. Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare. Remember the story of Sheikh Chili - SOUL & PEACE

The Gift of Insults

There once lived a great warrior. Though quite old, he still was able to defeat any challenger. His reputation extended far and wide throughout the land and many students gathered to study under him.
One day an infamous young warrior arrived at the village. He was determined to be the first man to defeat the great master. Along with his strength, he had an uncanny ability to spot and exploit any weakness in an opponent. He would wait for his opponent to make the first move, thus revealing a weakness, and then would strike with merciless force and lightning speed. No one had ever lasted with him in a match beyond the first move.

Much against the advice of his concerned students, the old master gladly accepted the young warrior's challenge. As the two squared off for battle, the young warrior began to hurl insults at the old master. He threw dirt and spit in his face. For hours he verbally assaulted him with every curse and insult known to mankind. But the old warrior merely stood there motionless and calm. Finally, the young warrior exhausted himself. Knowing he was defeated, he left feeling shamed.

Somewhat disappointed that he did not fight the insolent youth, the students gathered around the old master and questioned him. "How could you endure such an indignity? How did you drive him away?"

"If someone comes to give you a gift and you do not receive it," the master replied, "to whom does the gift belong?"

Shake it off and Step up.

A parable is told of a farmer who owned an old mule. The mule fell into the farmer's well. The farmer heard the mule 'braying' - or - whatever mules do when they fall into wells. After carefully assessing the situation, the farmer sympathized with the mule, but decided that neither the mule nor the well was worth the trouble of saving. Instead, he called his neighbors together and told them what had happened...and enlisted them to help haul dirt to bury the old mule in the well and put him out of  his misery.

Initially, the old mule was hysterical! But as the farmer and his neighbors continued shoveling and  the dirt hit his back...a thought struck him. It  suddenly dawned on him that every time a shovel load of dirt landed on his back...HE SHOULD  SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP! This he did,  blow after blow.

"Shake it off and step up...shake it off and step up...shake it off and step up!" he repeated to encourage himself. No matter how painful the blows, or distressing the situation seemed the old mule fought "panic" and just kept right on SHAKING IT OFF AND STEPPING UP!

You're right! It wasn't long before the old mule, battered and exhausted, STEPPED TRIUMPHANTLY OVER THE WALL OF THAT WELL! What seemed like it would bury him, actually blessed him...all because of the manner in which he handled his adversity.
THAT'S LIFE! If we face our problems and respond to them positively, and refuse to give in to panic, bitterness,  or self-pity...THE ADVERSITIES THAT COME ALONG TO BURY US USUALLY HAVE WITHIN THEM THE  POTENTIAL TO BENEFIT AND BLESS US!   Remember that FORGIVENESS--FAITH--PRAYER--PRAISE and HOPE...all are excellent ways to "SHAKE IT OFF AND STEP UP" out of the wells in which we find ourselves!  - Soul and Peace

A Scorpion Moment

There was this Hindu who saw a scorpion floundering around in the water. He decided to save it by stretching out his finger, but the scorpion stung him. The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the scorpion stung him again.
A man nearby told him to stop saving the scorpion that kept stinging him.
But the Hindu said: "It is the nature of the scorpion to sting. It is my nature to love. Why should I give up my nature to love just because it is the nature of the scorpion to sting?"
Don't give up loving.
Don't give up your goodness.
Even if people around you sting. Author Unknown.

Dig a little Deeper

There's a story about the California gold rush that tells of two brothers who sold all they had and went prospecting for gold. They discovered a vein of the shining ore, staked a claim, and proceeded to get down to the serious business of getting the gold ore out of the mine. All went well at first, but then a strange thing happened. The vein of gold ore disappeared! They had come to the end of the rainbow, and the pot of gold was no longer there. The brothers continued to pick away, but without succes. Finally, they gave up in disgust.
They sold their equipment and claim rights for a few hundred dollars, and took the train back home. Now the man who bought the claim hired an engineer to examine the rock strata of the mine. The engineer advised him to continue digging in the same spot where the former owners had left off. And three feet deeper, the new owner struck gold.
A little more persistence and the two brothers would have been millionaires themselves. That's gold in you too. Do you need to dig three feet farther?

Blurred Vision

A businessman was highly critical of his competitors' storefront windows. "Why, they are the dirtiest windows in town," he claimed. Fellow business people grew tired of the man's continual criticism and nitpicking comments about the windows. One day over coffee, the businessman carried the subject just too far.

Before leaving, a fellow store owner suggested the man get his own windows washed. He followed the advice, and the next day at coffee, he exclaimed, "I can't believe it. As soon as I washed my windows, my competitor must have cleaned his too. You should see them shine."
